  11. Executive brings real multitasking to AmigaOS. Executive is a
  12. UNIX-like process scheduler for Amiga. It also has plenty of other
  13. features previously available only in larger operating systems.

  15. Executive improves the responsiveness of your Amiga. One CPU
  16. intensive application no longer causes the whole system to crawl.
  17. You can start many CPU intensive applications and the system still
  18. feels as if it would be totally idle.

  20. The Executive package also includes many useful client programs
  21. that let you control tasks and monitor what is going on in your
  22. system.

  24. The core of Executive is a scheduler that recalculates task
  25. priorities based on system load average and task's recent CPU
  26. usage. The scheduler will give high priority to interactive tasks
  27. and low priority to CPU intensive tasks.

  29. Lets say you re printing a document from a word processor. You
  30. can't do much else while the document is being printed. This isn't
  31. multitasking. With Executive you could also do some heavy rendering
  32. and C-compiling in the background at the same time. You could surf
  33. the web with your favorite browser without even noticing all these
  34. programs running in the background.

  36. Executive consists of a server and clients. The server is run
  37. in the background and it takes care of scheduling, CPU usage
  38. calculations and many other things. Some important features of
